Our Trebuchet

I liked the activity of making our own trebuchets. I do think however that we should have had more supplies to use besides Popsicle sticks, straws, and pencils. Some other supplies that would have been helpful in making a more successful trebuchet could be wood and better super glue. The glue that we used wasn’t very helpful and it did not secure the trebuchet very well. I liked how we watched the movie about how real trebuchets were made and then got to try it for ourselves. Overall this was a fun activity that involved everyone in the group to make something for the trebuchet and contribute to it.

The Fall of Rome

A website that I found on the Fall of Rome was an article about the Fall of Rome on ancienthistory.about.com. This site is a trustworthy site because it has correct information and the website is a part of the New York And Times Company. The website talks all about the Fall of Rome and gives many reason why it fell. The site gives different topics about how Rome fell. It is split into reasons why Rome fell, Historians of the Fall, The decline of Rome and the events that happened during it,the extent of the empire at the time of the fall of Rome. Some reasons why Rome fell was because there was lack of patriotism, citizens with economic difficulty, and inflation and tax troubles. A thing that I liked about this site was that it didn’t just talk about the fall of Rome but it has chronological events of the entire fall of Rome and how it all began.It started out with the famous myth about how Rome was actually started and about how the famous two Brothers Remus and Romulus were roles of the city of Rome. Finally, the last thing I liked about this cite was that when it was explaining the fall of Rome, it talked about Rome’s kings, military, battles, early republic, and Ceaser. This site was very useful and knowledgeable because it talked about all different parts of Rome and things that led it its fall.

Nero and the Psychiatrist Skit

Nero: Hello Doctor

Psychiatrist: Hello Nero

Psychiatrist: How are you feeling today?

Nero: Well I am a very stressed from ruling my city and think it might be time to quit.

Psychiatrist: Oh really? What city do you rule?

Nero: I rule the city of Rome and have been ruling for 14 years.

Psychiatrist: Oh wow! Well you have been busy I’d say! What have you done over the years that would make you sto stressed out?

Nero: Well the biggest stressor that I have had in the past years was winning the war against the Pathian Empire.

Psychiatrist: Oh well that is a huge accomplishment! Way to go Nero!

Nero: Well thank you but it stressed me out so much!

Psychiatrist:You’re welcome! What else do you think could have been a factor of all this stress?

Nero: Well I don’t think you know, but I just killed my new wife..

Psychiatrist: NERO! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?

Nero: Doctor, I don’t know what’s wrong me me. I need help. As you know this is my second murder and I just am going crazy!

Psychiatrist: Yeah i would say so! We need to get you on medicine asap!!

Nero: Okay well that’s not all I have done.

Psychiatrist: Oh my, what else is wrong?

Nero: I am pretty sure I am a God..

Psychiatrist: Sorry to break it to you but you are not.

Psychiatrist: Why would you think that you are a God?

Nero: Well I think I am a God because I am the emperor of Rome and everyone needs to obey me.

Psychiatrist: Well I see your point but you are only the emperor. Not the God of Rome.

Nero: Okay well thank you for pointing that our to me.

Psychiatrist: I am not trying to be mean but you need help Nero and I am glad you came to me. I think I know exactly what you need.

Nero: Okay so what will help me?

Psychiatrist: We will start with therapy every week and I think that you should resign from being the emperor.

Nero: Doctor! I would never do that!

Psychiatrist: Well as an expert I know that if you resign from being king than you will be less stressed and I think some of your crazy actions will die down.

Nero: Okay, maybe you’re correct. I will take that into consideration. Thank you!

Psychiatrist: You are very welcome! But you come back and see me in two days with your decision!

Nero: Okay will do!

Psychiatrist: I will see you soon then! Don’t kill anyone till then.

Nero: Okay doctor! I will try.

Psychiatrist: Oh boy..

Tiberius is a Hero

I believe that Tiberius was a hero. Tiberius was a leader in the military tribune and he was later appointed to the staff of his brother in law’s military. Also in 137 BC he became the quaestor of the consul of Gaius Hostilus Mancinus and served a term in Numantia.He also brought a bill forward to the con-cilium pleb-is for a creation of all allotments. His bill was supported by the assembly which was surprising. I truly believe that Tiberius is a hero because he has so many accomplishments. He first reformed the taxes. Next he kept the Roman Empire at relative peace and protected the from not engaging in expansion. Then finally he had the policy of keeping provincial magistrates and rulers in office for long periods of time.
